Butterfly Convention Swap

SWAP!  I forgot about my SWAP!  At the Convention each year, Demonstrators from ALL OVER come and one of the main things we do is swap.  We create the fronts of a card and then swap them with other demonstrators to share ideas and inspiration.  This year I created 100 swaps.  (the last convention I created 250! EEK!)  So, after swapping all my cards, I have come home with 100 new ideas to use and share.

Here was my personal swap... I decided I wasn't going to buy a thing, but I didn't have enough to make all the same color, so I made 5 different colors based on which cardstock I had the most of... smart, huh?  :)

This swap used Tangelo Twist, but I also made Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Rose Red and Lost Lagoon.  Shame on me for not getting pictures of all the colors, but all the cards had the same layout just different color butterflies and base card.

Stamp Set:
Butterfly Basics

Colors:
Any color for base and butterflies, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

Cozy Christmas

The stamp set and paper I have used in this sample have a very fun vintage feel to them.  The Designer Series Paper reminds me of old wrapping paper from my younger years and the stamp set sentiments also have that vintage flair.

Available on September 1st:
  • Cozy Christmas stamp set (wood or clear mount)
  • Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) - The Santa is cut out from one of the sheets!
  • Home for Christmas Designer Buttons - the poinsettia is adorable, right?
  • Very vanilla 1-1/4" Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon - VERY subtle striping and beautiful!
At the Stampin' Up! 2015 Convention, we were given so many sneak peeks of the upcoming 2015 Holiday Catalog and we were able to play with the a few of the items!  I love that this card features quite a few of the new items.  This was originally made as a tag, but I decided to mount it to a card instead.  Either way works beautifully!

Here is the tag we made at the Stampin' Up! 2015 Convention.

And here, I have mounted the tag to a card to create another something special.  The Old Olive cardstock layer has been scored in a grid pattern and then distressed by crumpling the paper and rolling the corners and edges.  Kind of a cool effect!
I can't wait to share this Holiday Catalog with you!  Come to my next class and I will have them out for you to peruse as well as all the swaps I have from the Convention!
